The Venue
The Washington Crossing Inn was such a surprise to me! Located in Washington Crossing, PA its a venue that offers beauty, convenience, and service as good as (and is some cases better) its more popular Philadelphia wedding venue competitors.
My Takeaway
I am sort of a purist at heart and I wasn't sure if I liked the artificial grass in the wedding ceremony space. But within 5 minutes of working in the space I was in love! It looks great in photos and everyones shoes and dresses stay clean. This is especially important when doing the majority of photos before the ceremony as no bride wants a dirty dress when walking down the aisle. It happens...but it's nice when it can be avoided.
The grounds are really nice and have a nice balance of green textures, white fencing and still having space to use for photos. And there is plenty of SHADE which makes full wedding party photographs and family photos so much easier and efficient when time is tight. And if you want a slightly more natural looking space or some history, the Washington Crossing Park (https://www.washingtoncrossingpark.org/) and Delaware River is right across the street.
The bridal suite is a bit tricky as it has low'ish ceilings which makes natural light and flash use slightly challenging. Light can't bounce around as much and what is used is a mix of color temperatures and so gentle direction is needed to make sure people are positioned in light that looks good. Definitely not the worst scenario (not even in the bottom half) and what is challenging in one sense is really nice in another. One of my favorite hanging dress shots was done here in one of the window wells. I really like how the dress sits in a pocket of light :)
My Favorite Part
I don't think I have ever seen a more enthusiastic bride entrance to a reception, LOL!! Usually it's nice when couples stay together but I couldnt help but love this couple even more when they share their totally unhindered joy.
